The National Forestry Commission (Conafor) reported, at the end of April, a significant preliminary decrease in forest fires and their national impacts, from 280 casualties with 35,000 418 hectares damaged, from 18 to 24, to 147 with 17,806 hectares burned, from 25 to 1 May, representing a reduction of 51.76 and 50.27 percent, respectively.
