The OECD has significantly increased its growth forecast for the German economy this year. Gross domestic product will grow by 1.1 percent. There is also a positive forecast for 2027.
According to the leading economic research institutes, the OECD also raises its economic forecast for Germany. At the same time, economists warn.
For the world economy, the OECD expects growth of 2.9 and 3.0 percent for 2026 and 2027. According to experts, exports also grow surprisingly strongly due to the AI boom.
The organisation considers the situation in Germany much more rosy than before the summer. However, Chief Economist Stefano Scarpetta sees the fuel discount as critical – and urges the Federal Government to reform.
