Ford Recalls Nearly 180,000 Vehicles over Seat Defect Risk
Ford dealers will inspect and replace seat components free of charge as the company plans to notify owners beginning May 11.
- Ford Motor Company is recalling 179,698 vehicles, including 2024-2026 Ford Bronco SUVs and Ford Ranger pickup trucks, due to a front seat defect, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.
- The defect involves a potentially loose or dislodged seat frame height-adjust pivot bolt that may prevent the seat from properly restraining occupants during a crash, increasing injury risk.
- Impacted models include 62,255 Ford Bronco SUVs and 117,443 Ford Ranger pickup trucks from model years 2024-2026. Dealers will replace pivot links and bolts free of charge.
- Ford will mail interim notification letters to affected owners beginning May 11, with a second notice expected in July when a final remedy is available. VINs became searchable on the NHTSA website yesterday, April 30.
