Ice Crusher Recalled over Potential Fire Hazard
Vevor recalled 12,710 ice crushers after multiple fire incidents; customers must stop use and contact the manufacturer for refunds, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.
- On Thursday, Vevor recalled ice crusher models BY-300 and BY-300FS after at least two had `thermal events` and one unit caught fire, prompting a public safety announcement.
- Designed as Ice Shavers, Ice Crushers and Snow Cone Makers, the machines operate by feeding ice into the feed shoot where the internal cutter shaves or crushes it.
- Available online at Vevor.com and major retailers, the ice crushers sold for $40–$86 in blue, white, silver, red, and yellow with a top label showing Vevor and model BY-300/BY-300FS.
- Customers with recalled units should stop using them and email a photo of the unplugged power cord cut in half to recalling@vevor.com for a refund from Vevor.
- The CPSC reported about 11,650 U.S. sales and 1,060 Canadian sales from July 2021 through July 2025, expanding the recall's potential reach across major online retailers.
