'For the moment, he is with us' - Palace boss speaks out on Sarr to Liverpool speculation
Sage said both forwards are committed to Palace, with Sarr recovering from a groin injury and Mateta bound by a tribunal-backed contract.
Crystal Palace manager Sage expects Ismaila Sarr and Jean-Philippe Mateta to remain at the club despite transfer interest from Liverpool and Aston Villa.
Palace rejected a £50 million offer for Sarr, who is recovering from a groin injury, while Mateta faced a contract dispute heard by a Premier League tribunal.
Sage insists both players remain committed, noting Sarr trains alone due to injury while Mateta continues preparing with the squad. "I don't see a player who has a problem with the club or with us," Sage said.
Asked about Sarr's future at a press conference, Sage emphasized the winger's contract status: "When you have three years on the contract, it is not easy to leave."
Ahead of Friday's clash with Manchester City, Palace prepares for the season with both players available. Sage expressed confidence in their commitment and recovery timelines.
