Iraola Hails Barcola Mentality After Blockbuster Liverpool Move
Liverpool’s record signing has trained well and could be available for Friday’s match at Ipswich, manager Andoni Iraola said.
On Monday, Liverpool finalized the signing of French winger Bradley Barcola for up to £124 million , with manager Andoni Iraola confirming his availability for Friday's match at Ipswich.
The 24-year-old forward arrives as Liverpool's second-most expensive signing, trailing only the £125 million paid to Newcastle for Alexander Isak last year.
Iraola told reporters on Thursday that signing "a very, very good player in that position" was the priority, adding that Barcola arrived with the "right mentality."
While Barcola's arrival sparked speculation about left-winger Cody Gakpo's future, Iraola dismissed concerns, describing Gakpo as a "very valuable player."
Training sessions confirmed Barcola's readiness for Friday's debut at Portman Road, while Iraola expressed satisfaction with summer signings including Jeremy Jacquet and Victor Munoz.
