'Help Us': Family of Repeat Offender Accused in Brutal Attacks Begs to Keep Him Locked Up

- Court records reveal Hunt has at least nine prior arrests for crimes ranging from assault with a deadly weapon to probation violations. His sister told WSOC he has diagnoses of paranoid schizophrenia, PTSD, and bipolar disorder, saying, "He completely just flipped."
- Family members reportedly contacted police twice this week before the arrest, as officers investigated videos of the attacks. One victim was hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries following an assault on July 30.
- Attorney Thomas Clark explained the justice system cannot legally detain individuals for potential future crimes. "We can't punish people for things that they have not done yet," Clark said, addressing concerns about repeat offenders.
