Vogue World to Bring Fashion Spectacle to San Francisco in 2027
The one-day fashion and culture event will feature runway shows, celebrities and music as Vogue expands its traveling franchise.
- On Thursday, Vogue announced San Francisco will host Vogue World in early fall 2027, bringing the annual fashion and culture extravaganza to the West Coast. The event celebrates the city's diverse communities, arts, and history of innovation.
- Launched in 2022 to celebrate Vogue magazine's 130th anniversary, the four-year-old event has previously toured New York, London, Paris, and Los Angeles. Each iteration combines runway shows, celebrity performances, and musical spectacles.
- Mayor Daniel Lurie held multiple planning meetings with Anna Wintour, Condé Nast's chief content officer, starting in March. Wintour toured potential venues including the newly renovated Castro Theatre as a possible host location.
- Lurie views the selection as vital for the city's recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic. He stated the event will support local designers and musicians, strengthening San Francisco's creative ecosystem and global profile.
- Set for early fall 2027, the San Francisco event follows the upcoming Milan iteration scheduled for September. Juan Costa Paz of Convoy will serve as creative director, continuing his role across all Vogue World productions.
