Flyers Notebook: Top Prospect Jett Luchanko on the Move in Juniors
Brantford Bulldogs acquired Flyers prospect Jett Luchanko in exchange for Layne Gallacher and four future draft picks to strengthen their top-ranked Ontario Hockey League roster.
- On Monday, the Brantford Bulldogs finalized acquiring Jett Luchanko from the Guelph Storm, who received Layne Gallacher and four future draft picks including 2027 and 2028 second-rounders.
- After Guelph was awarded the 2027 Memorial Cup, the Guelph Storm traded a top player to recoup assets as hosts preparing for the tournament.
- In exchange for Luchanko, Brantford sent Layne Gallacher, 2027 and 2028 second-round picks, a 2029 third-round pick, and a 2029 fifth-round pick to Guelph last week.
- The move immediately strengthens Brantford, which is atop the OHL, as Jett Luchanko is ineligible for the AHL, giving him a better development path alongside higher-level teammates.
- Luchanko's NHL trial experience and family in Brantford contributed to the Hyman family's nearly year-long pursuit, which paid off after they purchased the Bulldogs in early 2025.
