Since he was re-elected in 2024, Houston appears to have had difficulty uttering the word “climate,” even as he pushes climate-killing oil and gas development, spending $30 million to promote exploration for onshore fossil gas and fracking, promoting offshore oil and gas, and new fossil gas plants in Pictou County. His 2026 budget all but erases climate and environment.
