Flights halted out of Newark and Philadelphia after air traffic equipment failure

- Outbound delays are currently between 46 and 60 minutes "and increasing," the FAA said, while arriving flights face delays of 15 minutes or less and Newark departures are delayed about 45 minutes.
- Officials expect the ground stop to be lifted by 11:15 a.m., but there is a 30 to 60% chance the pause could be extended, creating uncertainty for travelers.
