From someone claiming to have hidden the Dendermonde gold treasure in a previous life to a grandson in Latvia stating that his grandfather did so decades ago: at least five people have come forward to the police as owners since the discovery of the millions. The police are urging anyone who believes they have a claim to the treasure to engage a lawyer or notary.
The police have already received claims from all corners of the world for the gold treasure found last week in the Flemish town of Dendermonde. "After the news was shared by The New York Times and the Japanese Jiji.com, among others, emails from potential owners or experts are coming in from everywhere," said Police Chief Patrick Feys. One person even claimed to have been the owner of the gold treasure in a "previous life."
As soon as the gold treasure is found, everyone wants it. Even someone from a previous life seems to report claims. However, the Belgian police have bad news for the "owner".
