Hezbollah Drone Strike Injures 5 IDF Soldiers in Southern Lebanon
The first blast hit a tank near Tabnit, and a second drone struck the evacuation vehicle, the military said.
On Wednesday, five IDF soldiers were injured near Tabnit in the Nabatieh area of southern Lebanon after two Hezbollah explosive drones detonated near Israeli forces.
The attack unfolded in two stages, beginning around 6 a.m. when a drone detonated near a Givati Brigade Combat Team tank, with a second drone striking the evacuation vehicle minutes later.
Israeli troops from the 36th Division continue clearing terrorist infrastructure in the Beaufort sector; the IDF responded to the strikes with artillery fire at what the military described as terrorist infrastructure.
Ahead of a planned signing ceremony Friday in Switzerland for a United States-Iran agreement, the violence underscores continuing hostilities despite expectations of a ceasefire in Lebanon.
President Donald Trump said he expects Israel to show "good judgment" regarding defense in Lebanon, while Iran warned Tuesday that Israel should expect a "harsh response" from Tehran's military forces if strikes continue.
