Within five days of the National Day holiday, three centrally-managed officials were sentenced in the first instance for bribery. The latest was Hu Youtao, a vice-provincial-level official known as the "God of Wealth" of Jiangxi Province. This concentrated sentencing pace, compared to September, has drawn public attention as to whether it is a move to build momentum for the upcoming Fifth Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee.
