Two ancient wolf bones found in a cave on Stora Karlsö off Gotland surprise researchers. There is much evidence that the wolves were brought there by boat by humans – and even the food they ate points to a special bond with humans.
In a cave on the Swedish island of Store Karlsjö, archaeologists found the bones of wolves who lived there with ancient seal hunters several thousand years BC. Analysis of the remains showed that the animals ate the same food as humans, which suggests that there was some interaction between them.
