Slovakia has confirmed its first two cases of bluetongue in cattle farms. One of the outbreaks is in the Čadca district, the other in the Žarnovica district in central Slovakia. The State Veterinary and Food Administration of the Slovak Republic announced this on Monday (October 5).
Authorities have already issued the first restrictions for affected farms, but they are reassuring farmers that the animals do not have to be euthanized.
