Fire Destroys Arcade at Ocean Beach Pleasure Park in South Shields
Fire crews battled a large blaze through the Oasis arcade at Ocean Beach Pleasure Park with six engines and specialists; no injuries reported, cause under investigation.
- On December 26, 2025 a large fire broke out shortly after 7pm at Ocean Beach Pleasure Park, badly damaging the Oasis amusements arcade including Dinosaur Cove; crews extinguished the blaze by 03:30.

- A cordon seals off the park and local residents were told to close doors and windows overnight, with Northumbria Police maintaining the scene today, December 27, and no injuries reported as North East Ambulance Service teams were stood down.
- Established in 1899, Ocean Beach Pleasure Park had received a �1.2m investment in 2023 and suffered collapsed roofing and destroyed Dinosaur Cove, with a report to the Health and Safety Executive.
