Motorcycling-Bezzecchi Suspended From Czech Grand Prix, Bagnaia Dominates Sprint | Sports-Games
FIM stewards said the ban follows a crash in which he pushed and struck circuit marshals trying to recover his bike.
FIM MotoGP Stewards Panel suspended MotoGP championship leader Marco Bezzecchi from Sunday's Czech Grand Prix at Brno after he struck circuit marshals following a crash on Saturday.
Citing Article 3.3.2.2 of the FIM Grand Prix World Championship Regulations, stewards determined the rider's actions were prejudicial to the sport; footage showed him pushing and slapping a marshal in the face.
Ducati rider Francesco Bagnaia won Saturday's sprint race, leading from start to finish and securing his first victory since Sepang by holding off pole-sitter Ai Ogura in the closing stages.
The #72 will not race on Sunday, reducing Bezzecchi's points advantage as Spaniard Jorge Martin now trails by just 15 points; Aprilia retains appeal rights within one hour of announcement.
On the podium, Ducati teammate Marc Marquez finished third, while VR46 Racing Team's Fabio Di Giannantonio took fourth place; Australian Jack Miller placed 14th on his Pramac Yamaha, 16 seconds behind.
