Film shot in Penticton to debut on Netflix
The film features more than 30,000 lights at Magic on Main as Penticton officials promote the city’s growing role in screen production.
Starring Dennis Quaid, the film A Dog's Perfect Christmas features Penticton as its backdrop, with scenes filmed at the outdoor skating rink and the holiday light tunnel in December 2025.
Penticton serves as a versatile filming location, with recent productions including Drinkwater, Invasions, 13 Miles, and Wild Goat Surf; filmmakers utilize the region's diverse landscapes that can double for European vineyards or alpine mountain ranges.
Film productions generate about $2 billion of economic activity, Visit Penticton executive director Kevin Pearce said, supporting local businesses and creating year-round opportunities throughout the community.
Reagan Lovig, recreation coordinator for events and film at The City, noted growing interest from production companies, prompting The City to work with the Okanagan Film Commission on future productions.
The holiday light tunnel, which features more than 30,000 lights, remains a staple of Magic on Main and will return alongside the annual Santa Parade, continuing to attract film scouts to the community.
