Fidesz has initiated a subsequent review of the constitutionality of three amendments to the law adopted by the government. The opposition faction alliance appealed to the body due to the suspension of key investments in the Otthon Start program, the withdrawal of benefits for local government leaders, and the abolition of TEK and the Parliamentary Guard on October 1, the party wrote in a statement.
Two defining laws were published in the Hungarian Gazette of September 30. The first, the amendment to the law on priority investments, is primarily important for housing developers, as it also affects the residential parks being built under the Otthon Start program, while the second, Act LVIII of 2026, redraws the urban development map of Budapest.
