Ferrari Seek to Quell Speculation Around Vasseur
Ferrari said it has full confidence in Vasseur after Christian Horner’s comments fueled speculation, while Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc backed the team principal.
On Thursday, Ferrari publicly reaffirmed "full confidence" in team principal Fred Vasseur, moving to quash persistent rumors linking former Red Bull boss Christian Horner to the Frenchman's leadership role.
Speculation intensified after Horner described leading Ferrari as a "dream" in a recent book interview, fueling reports that the team might replace Vasseur despite his multi-year contract signed last year.
Endorsing the team principal on Thursday, Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc described Vasseur as "extremely valuable" and a "fantastic leader," while Leclerc dismissed rumors as "silly" amid performance pressures.
Chief communications officer Maria Conti urged media to avoid fueling gossip, insisting the team must focus on the upcoming Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia this weekend.
Hamilton acknowledged Ferrari's power deficit while suggesting the team's internal structure requires review, noting "there are changes that I would make" to improve long-term competitiveness.
