Industrialists are calling on the European Union to address their difficult economic situation in the same way it previously addressed the crisis related to the Covid-19 pandemic. They said this in a statement to heads of state and government approved at a meeting in Antwerp, who will discuss the topic at an informal EU summit on Thursday at the Belgian castle of Alden Biesen.
Six hundred business leaders, five heads of state and government, all the heavyweights of the European Commission: in three years, the Antwerp industrial summit has grown to a considerable extent. An event organised by the powerful chemistry lobby – the Cefic – which takes on the look of European mini-summits but which, behind the scenes, sometimes makes teeth grow.
At the Antwerp Industrial Summit, companies are calling for immediate action – before investments migrate and deindustrialisation becomes irreversible.
