- The federal cabinet approved the draft of the 27th Constitutional Amendment during a special session chaired by Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister via video link from Baku, securing consensus on reforms including Article 243.
- The amendment draft restructures military command by proposing to abolish the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, introduce a Chief of Defence Forces, and grant lifetime status to Field Marshal and senior officers.
- Senator Barrister Ali Zafar objected that debate was inappropriate while the Opposition leadership seat is vacant and said members needed time to read the draft, and Tarar said sessions will continue while the committee reviews the bill.
- The PPP supported amending Article 243 and forming a Federal Constitutional Court, with a three-year Chief Justice term and equal provincial representation, as Shehbaz Sharif thanked coalition leaders for their support.
