Nationwide Recall on Chips Ahoy! Expanded
Recall now includes more product codes and best-by dates due to corn starch clumps posing choking risks for children and elderly, FDA and Mondelez said.
- On Feb. 4, 2026 the U.S. Food & Drug Administration announced an expanded recall of Chips Ahoy! Baked Bites Brookie by Mondelez Global LLC, adding one code date and two UPCs.
- A mixing process error caused small corn starch clumps in certain batches, which officials warn could pose a choking hazard for young children and older adults.
- Among affected units are pouches listed under UPCs 4400008667 and 4400008566 with best-by dates in May 2026.
- Consumers are advised not to eat the products and to throw them away or return them for a full refund; 'At the time of writing, there had been no reported injuries or illnesses associated with the products, and Mondelez said it was' issuing this recall out of an abundance of caution.
- The recall remains limited to Chips Ahoy! Baked Bites Brookie, initially initiated on Dec. 24, 2025, and expanded on Dec. 30, 2026, by Mondelez.
