Fanatics takes bigger NHL design role with all-32 team Hometown Remix jerseys
Fanatics says the city-focused designs will help drive merchandise sales and future alternate jerseys as the league tests a new look for every market.
On Monday, the NHL and Fanatics debuted the Hometown Remix program, a collection of unique uniforms and apparel for all 32 NHL teams designed to celebrate each franchise's city identity.
The NHL's official on-ice outfitter since the 2024-25 season, Fanatics designed the collection to deepen ties to local markets. NHL chief branding officer Brian Jennings noted it differentiates from Adidas' Reverse Retro initiatives.
Each jersey features hyperlocal design elements including custom typography and embossed details reflecting the unique character of each team's home city. Fanatics Commerce CEO Andrew Low Ah Kee stated the company is "accountable for the quality of the garments."
Ahead of the holiday shopping season, officials confirmed the jerseys are in "limited supply," with the release designed to generate significant engagement for clubs and boost ticket sales.
The NHL and Fanatics plan to collect insights after launch to inform future league-wide efforts. Executives called this a "big step forward" in their partnership, emphasizing high design integrity to delight fans.
