Family Thanks Zoo Staff After Three-Year-Old Boy Seriously Injured in Crocodile Enclosure
The boy remains in stable condition after multiple surgeries, and a fundraising page has been launched to support recovery and rehabilitation, police said.
A three-year-old boy was seriously injured after allegedly being thrown into a crocodile enclosure at Johnson's of Old Hurst, near Huntingdon, on June 18. The family issued a statement thanking the staff who rescued their son.
Following the incident, a 30-year-old man from Norfolk was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder but was later released on bail after authorities determined he was not fit for interview.
The boy was rescued by zoo owners amidst "extraordinary bravery and quick actions of those nearby," and after undergoing "multiple surgeries," he remains in stable condition at Addenbrooke's Hospital.
Parents remain by his side at the Hospital to support him through ongoing physical and psychological care, while a fundraising page was established to assist with recovery and rehabilitation throughout the coming months.
Any funds remaining after meeting the family's needs will be donated to charities within the Addenbrooke's Trust, which support other families facing similar challenges during difficult times.
