Family of boy, 6, thrown from Tate Modern issue update on his recovery
The boy survived a 30-metre fall and has regained many physical abilities; his family shared updates including plans for surgery in early 2026 and over £470,000 raised for recovery.
- On Sunday, the unnamed French child was attacked while on holiday at Tate Modern, London gallery, and has now made a remarkable recovery, able to run, jump, and swim again.
- Jonty Bravery picked up and hurled the child from the 10th-floor balcony after more than 15 minutes stalking potential victims; Bravery, then aged 17 with autism, was allowed out unsupervised from supported accommodation.
- Surviving a 30m fall, the victim spent months in intensive care with a brain bleed and broken bones, requiring 10 rehabilitation sessions per week and showing limited but improving memory skills.
- A GoFundMe for the family's recovery has raised over 476,000, and Jonty Bravery, attacker, pleaded guilty to attempted murder and was jailed in 2020 for at least 15 years.
- Next year, the boy faces another operation requiring nearly two months immobilisation, and the boy's family say they must move soon to find a specialist school accommodating 10 rehabilitation sessions per week.
