Nikolay Totmyanin, an outstanding Russian climber who repeatedly led national expedition teams, died in Bishkek at the age of 67. According to an official statement from the Russian Mountaineering Federation, he died on August 11 at about 13:00 Moscow time. The reason was cardiac arrest after a successful ascent to Victory Peak (7439 m), the highest point of the Tien Shan in Central Asia.
