'Breaking Bad' Star RJ Mitte Dies at 34, Reports Say
Representatives said the Breaking Bad star died without an immediate cause as authorities continue an investigation into his death.
Actor RJ Mitte, best known for playing Walter White Jr. on Breaking Bad, died Monday, October 12, 2026, at age 34 in Brownsville, Texas, his representatives confirmed.
Mitte's breakout role as Walter White Jr. in the AMC series 'Breaking Bad' spanned 56 episodes across five seasons, and he lived with cerebral palsy, which he channeled into disability advocacy.
Last week, Mitte appeared on The Joe Vulpis Podcast discussing Breaking Bad's legacy, and on September 30, he made his final public appearance at the 'Talking to Strangers' premiere in Beverly Hills.
TMZ reported the cause of death as suicide, citing a county official, while law enforcement officials stated the investigation into Mitte's death remains ongoing.
As president of The Mitte Foundation and ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children's, Mitte dedicated his platform to challenging stereotypes and advancing disability representation in entertainment.
