EXTRA-INNINGS THRILLER: Nebraska walks off Arkansas in 10-inning showdown
Nebraska’s first WCWS walk-off since 1982 came after Jordy Frahm threw 10 innings and Ava Kuszak delivered the winning homer.
On Thursday, Nebraska defeated Arkansas 5-3 in 10 innings at the Women's College World Series. Senior captain Ava Kuszak secured the walk-off victory with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 10th.
Playing in their first-ever WCWS, the Arkansas Razorbacks faced the Nebraska Cornhuskers, who ended a 13-year drought to reach their eighth tournament appearance at Devon Park.
Striking out nine batters, Nebraska pitcher Jordy Frahm allowed only eight hits across 10 innings. She overcame an early 2-0 deficit sparked by Kailey Wyckoff's two-run home run.
Nebraska extended its winning streak to 27 games and advances to face top-seeded Alabama on Saturday. Arkansas enters an elimination game against UCLA on Friday at 8:30 p.m.
The Cornhuskers earned their first WCWS victory since 1982, marking their first tournament win in 24 years. This milestone signals a major breakthrough for the program at Devon Park.
