During this summer's excessive heat, marmots often sit on exposed rocks in the sun, wildlife expert Florian Kunz told the APA: "This isn't sunbathing as one might generally expect, but actually a kind of cold bathing." Their overheated bodies can then transfer heat to the cooler stone.
