EXCLUSIVE: Ex-official seeks civil order against Weiser
Gregory alleges state officials concealed misconduct tied to a rescinded $2.66 million contract and asks the court to order protection from Weiser.
Former Colorado Commission on Judicial Discipline executive director Christopher Gregory filed for a civil protection order against Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser, alleging Weiser concealed misconduct regarding a $2.66 million to $2.77 million contract awarded to Mindy Masias.
Following her 2019 firing for alleged "financial irregularities," Masias, the former chief of staff for the Colorado State Court Administrator, received a leadership training contract that Gregory characterizes as a "hush money contract."
Five outside investigations reviewed the matters without substantiating Gregory's claims, with chief communications officer Suzanne Karrer noting that reports found administrative failures but rejected the assertion that contracts served to cover up misconduct.
As of Tuesday, the court has not ruled on motions filed Oct. 7 by the Colorado Commission on Judicial Discipline to intervene, or on Gregory's request to compel Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty to prosecute.
While Gregory continues to demand public scrutiny of state-level corruption, documents provided to The Center Square do not show that any criminal charges have resulted from his allegations regarding the Masias contract.
