The proportion of counterfeit cigarettes in Hungary has continued to increase, while the share of original foreign products among heated tobacco products has increased. The legal tobacco market may shrink further due to excise tax increases, and this may reduce budget revenues by up to 80 billion forints, the research company YouGov announced the results of this spring's (first wave) empty pack survey to MTI on Thursday.
Illegal vapes may spread, the proportion of counterfeit cigarettes has increased again. According to research, the budget could be lost by tens of billions of forints annually.
