While the Belgian won his second place win on Tuesday on the time trial of the 16th stage in Haute-Savoie, his team-mate at Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe dropped out of the race, the victim of a fall.
Winning the time trial thanks to Remco Evenepoel, untouchable between Evian-les-Bains and Thonon-les-Bains, and solid second in the overall standings, the RedBull-Bora-Hansgrohe team also lost its second leader, Florian Lipowitz, in the fall.
The Belgian flies in counter-lock and reinforces his second position with 28 points to the Slovenian leader.
