From Monday on, Brienz is once again considered habitable, after 62 weeks of evacuation and constant danger from the mountain. Now the situation has relaxed – however, a residual risk remains.

After months of uncertainty, the inhabitants of the Swiss mountain village Brienz have a future perspective again. Why only one zone above the village remains closed.
The grey mountain village of Brienz can again be inhabited and accessible normally from next Monday.
The inhabitants of Brienz (GR) will be able to return home from Monday. After more than a year of evacuation due to falls, they will be able to reside there again. The municipality of Albula announced on Thursday the lifting of the evacuation and the ban on access.
