"Although the condolences were formally sent in his personal name and in the name of his political party, this difference cannot be separated from the fact that he continues to perform the function of the President of the Assembly, and his words therefore have institutional weight, regardless of the capacity in which they were uttered," the statement of the European deputies reads.
