Almost all Mediterranean countries are battling heat, drought and man-made wildfires.
According to the analysis of AFP data from the European Drought Observatory, 52% of the soils were affected by water shortage for the fourth month in a row. Drought in the region has broken monthly records every month since the beginning of the year.
Eastern Europe and the Balkans are particularly affected, but also Turkey, while the situation in Western Europe is more contrasted.
