The owner of the pan-European stock exchange platform pleads for a rapprochement with its great German rival Deutsche Börse. Euronext is willing to advance to a merger with its biggest rival, Deutsche Börse, or at least to an approximation of their stock exchange activities. The opening was made by CEO Stéphane Boujnah, in an interview with the "Financial Times", advanced this Monday.
In order to compete better with the US, Europeans are looking for ways to strengthen their own capital markets. Euronext is now open to a merger.
