LIMASSOL, Cyprus (AP) — American-born guard Jordan Loyd hit seven 3-pointers and finished with 32 points to help Poland outlast Slovenia and Los Angles Lakers star Luka Doncic 105-95 Thursday in both teams' EuroBasket opener.
The Slovenian men's basketball team opened this year's European Basketball Championship with a match against Poland, a team that had lost to Poland in the last European Championship in Germany. The Polish team deservedly outplayed the Polish team in Katowice, led by Mateusz Ponitka and Jordan Loyd, and eventually defeated Slovenia 105:95. Luka Dončić scored 34 points for the losers.
