The EU has proposed a ban on imports of Russian cod and other seafood, in addition to 'substantial restrictions' on other species in latest set of sanctions, though it is unclear as yet whether this also applies to Russian-origin cod from third countries
For the first time, the European Commission (EC) proposed to ban the entry into EU countries of SVO veterans, as well as a total ban on the import of Russian cod and several other fish products, as reported by the EC Head, Ursula von der Layen, presenting the 21st package of sanctions, which has yet to be unanimously approved by the EU Council.
