The Council of the EU today adopted a decision to extend the mandate of the EU Special Envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue and Other Regional Issues of the Western Balkans Miroslav Lajcak until 31 January 2025.

Council of the EU extends Lajcak's mandate until 31 January, Orav replaces Sunyo in Pristina

The EU Council extended the mandate of Miroslav Lajčák, the EU Special Envoy for dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, until the end of January 2025. Lajčák's mandate on this position, for which former President Borut Pahor expressed interest, would have otherwise expired at the end of August. The Council also appointed four new EU Special Representatives, including for Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo.

Svet EU je danes Miroslavu Lajčaku, posebnemu odposlancu za dialog med Beogradom in Prištino, podaljšal mandat do konca januarja 2025. Lajčaku bi se mandat na položaju, za katerega je zanimanje izrazil bivši predsednik Borut Pahor, sicer iztekel konec avgusta. Svet je obenem imenoval štiri nove posebne predstavnike EU, med drugim za BiH in Kosovo.
