Sudan Accuses Ethiopia and UAE of Orchestrating Drone Attacks on Khartoum Airport
Sudan says verified evidence links drones launched from Ethiopia to the airport strike and will take the case to the United Nations Security Council.
On Tuesday, Sudan recalled its ambassador to Ethiopia for "consultations" after Foreign Minister Mohi-Eddin Salim described Monday's drone strike on Khartoum International Airport as "direct aggression."
The Armed Forces Spokesperson Brigadier General Asim Awad Abdelwahab presented evidence linking drone attacks to Bahir Dar Airport, alleging The United Arab Emirates supplied the drones.
Military officials tracked hostile drone operations originating from Ethiopia since March 1, and authorities suspended airport operations for a 72-hour period following the strike.
Rejecting the accusations as "baseless," Ethiopia's foreign ministry denied involvement, while Sudan plans to submit additional evidence to the United Nations Security Council.
The ongoing conflict has displaced 12 million people and caused more than 150,000 deaths, and these recent attacks threaten the voluntary return of residents to Khartoum.
