Estonia continues to act as if Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania will complete Rail Baltic by the current deadline of 2030. If Latvia decides that the country cannot complete the European-gauge railway by that deadline, then Estonia is ready to slow down the pace of construction here as well.

While Estonia is still building Rail Baltic based on the plan to have its part ready by 2030, Matīss Paegle, chairman of the board of RB Rail, which is building a railway connecting the three Baltic states to Europe via Poland, confirmed in an interview with Postimees that, considering all the circumstances, there is no chance that Latvia will have its part ready at the same time as Estonia.
