Environment Canada issues first snowfall warnings of the season for Quebec and Ontario

- A low-pressure system moving through southern Ontario will produce widespread wet snow, starting as overnight showers then changing to snow Sunday morning and resuming after a brief pause.
- In Quebec, southern and central areas north of Montreal could see up to 25 cm of snow, while eastern Ontario, including Kingston, Cornwall, and Ottawa, may get up to 15 cm.
- Motorists should expect difficult winter driving on Sunday, while the City of Toronto applied salt brine to priority roads and opened warming centres and shelter spaces.
- Officials urged residents of the GTA to consider installing winter tires in the next few days as Monday will see a high near 1 C with possible flurries and lows around-3 C, Environment Canada says.
