Heartstream now operates globally with over 480 distribution partners and a $26 billion market focus on emergency medical tech for pre-hospital care.
Emergency Care Holdings announced the completion of its acquisition of the Philips Emergency Care business on Jan. 14, 2026, launching Heartstream as a standalone global platform under a long-term Philips brand license.
ECH formed the platform to target a market estimated at $26 billion, backed by Bridgefield Capital which provides resources and expertise for carveouts.
Headquartered in Bothell, Washington, Heartstream maintains more than three million installed AEDs and ALS devices worldwide and operates in over 130 countries through about 480 distribution partners.
ECH said Heartstream will be the foundation for a multi-brand platform, pursuing disciplined acquisitions to expand products and reach while gaining sharper focus and capital flexibility.
Heartstream will prioritize expanding AED access in public places and homes while sharpening operations and accelerating innovation for first responders, health systems and communities, consolidating an installed base of more than three million devices to reshape pre-hospital care.
