Elixiron Immunotherapeutics Reports Positive Phase 2 Interim Results for Enrupatinib: Evidence of Neuroinflammation Reduction and Early Cognitive Benefit in Alzheimer's Disease
Elixiron Immunotherapeutics announced positive interim Phase 2 results for enrupatinib, a drug targeting neuroinflammation in Alzheimer's disease patients in a proof-of-concept study.
The study showed that enrupatinib is safe, well tolerated, and effectively engages its target by reducing neuroinflammation as measured by TSPO-PET imaging in a biomarker-selected subgroup.
No drug-related serious adverse events were reported among the seven assessed participants.
In a subgroup of biomarker-defined patients, 80% showed significant reductions in neuroinflammation, with one participant exhibiting notable cognitive improvements, leading to plans for a placebo-controlled confirmatory study.
