The arrival of the cold coincides with a rise in energy bills that threatens to increase household spending over the coming months. According to Selectra’s estimates, a household with an electrical consumption of 250 kilowatt hours (kWh) per month will pay 14,35 euros more than a year ago, while the gas bill of a house with heating and a monthly consumption of about 1,050 kWh rises by 17.9% compared to the previous quarter.
