The owners of electric vehicles in Belarus will be notified of the payment of the transport tax in 2027, as written by myfin.by in the words of the Minister for Taxes and Charges, Dmitri Kiyko.
In November, the invoices for motor vehicle tax will be shipped. The discount for holders of electric passenger cars has been abolished for the first time since its introduction. The Law on the taxation of motor vehicles, which has been in force since 2018, provides for this discount of 50 percent as long as the market share of these vehicles is less than five percent. This threshold was exceeded in September 2025.
In 2027, the owners of the electric vehicles will be notified of the 2026 transport tax, as the 2026 exemption has been cancelled. The car will be charged at standard rates.
