Rise, Tarnished: Elden Ring Officially Releases on Switch 2 This Summer
On Thursday, June 4, 2026, publisher Bandai Namco announced that Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will launch on NintendoSwitch2 on August 28, 2026, ending months of speculation about the port's release timing.
Initially slated for 2025, the release was delayed after public Gamescom demonstrations revealed performance issues; Bandai Namco acknowledged the delay was necessary to "allow time for performance adjustments."
This version includes the base game and The Erdtree DLC plus exclusive cosmetics; Kotaku's Rebekah Valentine tested a newer build at the Game Developers Conference in March, reporting the port ran "extremely fine."
An Amazon listing suggests an $80 price point, while new classes, weapons, and customization options will eventually arrive on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms alongside the Switch 2 release.
FromSoftware is developing The Duskbloods, a Switch 2 exclusive spiritual successor to 2015's Bloodborne, as the studio continues work on multiplayer-centric titles four years after the original Elden Ring's launch.
