The recent strong earthquake in Colombia did not affect the coffee harvest, which is however being significantly affected by the El Niño weather phenomenon and prolonged rain, the Latin American country's coffee growers' association said on Friday.

Colombia's coffee harvest has not been affected by the earthquake that shook the southwest and center of the country, which produces about 30% of the national total, the manager of the National Federation of Coffee Growers, Germán Bahamón, told Reuters, who reported normal exports from the maritime port of Buenaventura.
